Using Copy Folder for Google Drive to Manage Distance Learning Course Development

In this video, I explain how useful a tool like Copy Folder for Google Drive can be for replicating a Google-Drive-based folder with several subfolders and files inside of it.

I have a "Course Development Kit" filled with how-to guides, accessibility-compliant syllabus and course-mapping templates and lots of other resources needed to design a distance learning course from scratch. So I use Copy Folder for Google Drive to replicate the template folder, rename it according to the new course assignment and then share it out to the appropriate instructor. It's awesome!!

I could see this tool being useful in K12 environments for various purposes, such as sending out folder templates to students engaging in group projects or to teachers working on professional development portfolios. Higher Ed could not only apply it to distance learning, as I have here, but it might also benefit students who need a set of template folders full of editable writing resources or style guide tutorials and so on.

I explain the process I use with Copy Folder for online course development in the video below.
